The 96th Academy Awards – aka Oscars 2024, was telecast in India early this morning live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles and has been making the headlines ever since. Jimmy Kimmel Monologue Roast
Oscar 2024 host Jimmy Kimmel delivered a controversial monologue that has landed in him being called rude on the internet. From bringing up ‘Iron Man’ Robert Downey Jr’s past drug addiction to mentioning ‘nepo-baby’ Hailey Bieber and asking former US President Donald Trump about his ‘jail time,’ his speech had it all.
While commenting on Robert receiving recognition for Oppenheimer, Jimmy is heard saying, “This is the highest point in Robert Downey Jr’s long and illustrious career. Well, one of the highest points.” In response to this, the ‘Avengers’ actor simply tapped on his nose while grinning, making the host ask, “Is that too on-the-nose, or is that a drug motion you’re making?” Kimmel was also heard talking about the Rhode skincare founder saying, “heavily botox Hailey Bieber smoothie drinking, diabetes prescription abusing, gluten sensitive nepo babies with perpetually shivering chihuahuas.”
Jimmy Kimmel also responded to former POTUS Donald Trump making fun of his Oscar hosting performance saying “Isn’t it past your jail time?”
Anatomy of a Fall’s Messi Grabs Attentions
Messi – the seven-year-old border collie plays Snoop in Anatomy of a Fall, grabbed the attention of all as he had himself a special seat at the Oscars 2024. The four-legged star – who wore a stylish bow tie, make the audience go aww – especially Barbie star Ryan Gosling, as he was captured clapping during the event. Messi also seemed unhappy as he walked pass Matt Damon’s star on the Walk of Fame – we wonder why.
John Cena Costume-less
To present the Best Costume award at Oscars 2024, John Cena graced the stage costume-less. You read that right. The ‘Peacemaker’ star walked on the stage wearing nothing aside from the announcement envelope covering his privates. After a quick cut, the former WWE star appeared draped in a curtain-like covering on the 96th Academy Awards stage.
Ryan Gosling Performs ‘I’m Just Ken‘
While Ryan Gosling may have lost the 96th Academy Awards Best Supporting Actor award to Robert Downey Jr, he made sure he had the limelight on himself as he charmed the audiences with a performance to ‘I’m Just Ken’. The ‘Barbie’ actor got the audience grooving, especially his La La Land co-star Emma Stone
Emma Stone’s Wardrobe Malfunction
Wardrobe malfunctions are part and parcel of life but suffering one in front of the world is embarrassing. Oscars 2024 winner Emma Stone unfortunately faced a sartorial snafu moments before she went on stage to accept the Best Actress trophy for her performance in ‘Poor Things.’ The La La Land actress begins her speech by saying, “My dress is broken,” and before stating her ‘I’m Just Ken’ performance was responsible for it. She even showed of the broken zipper on the back of her Louis Vuitton gown during her speech.
